Quality of Life

Regardless of where you settle, a great quality of life awaits you in Central Alberta.

Most residents of Central Alberta live in relatively urban settings — with all the amenities you’d expect from a city, but with a friendlier, down-to-earth lifestyle of a smaller centre.

According to the municipal census in 2010, the population of Red Deer, the region’s urban centre, was 90,084 residents — an 8.4% increase from the 2006 municipal census. The fastest-growing municipality in the 2000s was Sylvan Lake, however, with a population increase of 36.1% (or 2,705 residents) between 2001 and 2006.
